I'm just as appalled by the shooting in AZ as anyone else in this country. Yet it appalls me more that instead of it being a time of coming together and supporting each other it becomes a time of tearing each other apart and blaming others for what is the fault of a sociopath with a gun. When events like this happen it never ceases to amaze me how each side of the political spectrum spins the proverbial story to suit its purpose of the events and to get its agenda pushed. Now instead of the story being about the brave men and women who were heroes and those that lost their lives and loved ones; its about the politicians vows to make it never happen again or how it shouldn't have happened in the first place.

Case in point, the Democrats are blaming Sarah Palin for the shooting based on some remarks made earlier from her putting a target on AZ. This leads to the Robert Brady (D) planning on sponsoring a bill making it illegal to use language or symbols that threaten or incite violence against a member of Congress or Federal official; of course it is already illegal to make comments against the President now we can't say anything against the Congress and other Federal Officials.

I don't agree with this law on the basis that it can be used in such a broad fashion against a person, organization or group so as to be a breach of the 1st amendment of the Constitution. I know that common sense should apply here but we are talking about the Government and they also monitor books taken from public libraries and put 7 year olds on no fly lists; some how I see them abusing this law for their own benefit especially against their nemesis the Tea Party.

Which brings me to case in point number 2 the Tea Party so adamant to defend Sarah Palin that they chose to ask for money to continue the campaign against the left; which was of course defaming them by saying that Loughner was egged on by Palin's use of cross hairs on a political map. While they were polite in stating that their thoughts and prayers went out to the family they want everyone to know that the Left is afraid and will use this to try to bring them down or something to that effect. Basically send us some money so we can get our spin doctors on this now.

Now my biggest fear is the gun haters in our country latching onto this and using it as a springboard much like they did with the Brady Bill after Reagan's shooting and other gun laws that have passed. While I understand that the crime was committed with a gun it wasn't the gun that committed the crime it was the individual and since we don't know where the gun came from or any of that its a safe bet that increasing laws that will only affect law abiding citizens won't keep incidents like this from happening again but will make gun abolishing fanatics happy.

As for me my prayers and thoughts go to those people who need it the most, the ones laying in hospital beds in AZ and those mourning their loved ones who didn't make it home that day. It has been a week of tragedy and now instead of coming together we again tear ourselves apart wondering to whom should we place the blame. How about we wait for the trial and wait for the outcome and stop bickering like school children and believing in all the hype. I swear the people will drink any kool-aid given to them instead of thinking for themselves and seeing that people act independently of group think a majority of the time and while the movies make group think fun and conspiracy theory intriguing it isn't always happening. Yet the media is always liberal in its leaning unless it's Fox News then its anyone's guess your best bet is CNN but only believe half of what you see and nothing of what you hear.
